When Rebel Athletic approached us, they were poised for a significant transition: migrating their extensive database to a new e-commerce platform. The big challenge was a substantial customer database that we had to migrate from Magento to Shopify. There were almost 450,000 orders, 55,000 customers, and their related entities that were moved to Shopify. Our mission was to seamlessly transfer this vast database to Shopify, ensuring a smooth transition and enhancing user experience. The site has a huge sell and visitors every day, and getting downtime for the migration process was not easy.
This project was not just another item on our to-do list; it marked one of the most critical upgrades to our e-commerce website for the year. Known as one of our biggest e-commerce endeavors, the challenge lay not only in relocating the enormous database from its previous platform to Shopify but also in executing necessary readjustments without compromising data integrity or causing website downtime. Our objective extended beyond mere migration; we aimed to implement vital enhancements to the new system, elevating it above the previous platform's capabilities and user interface, thereby fulfilling and surpassing our client's expectations.
